A psychopathic killer stalks a Boston campus, brutally slaughtering nubile young college co-eds and collecting body parts from each victim to create the likeness of his mother, whom he savagely murdered with an axe when he was just ten years old.
This wild, unrated gorefest is a true shock to the system, boasting enough splatter and sleaze to satisfy even the most jaded horror fan. Grindhouse Releasing is offering two complete versions of this shocking gore classic:
"PIECES" (83 minutes) - the original, unrated U.S. theatrical version, presented in English. "MIL GRITOS TIENE LA NOCHE" (86 minutes) - the original uncensored director's cut, presented in Spanish with the original score by Librado Pastor.
Both versions have been given spectacular new 4K transfers, scanned directly from the original camera negatives. Additionally, the release features a brand new audio commentary by star Jack Taylor, as well as a special 5.1 audio option for the "Vine Theater Experience."
In-depth interviews with director Juan Piquer Simón and genre superstar Paul L. Smith provide fascinating insights into the making of this cult classic. The release is further complemented by the all-new feature-length documentary "42nd STREET MEMORIES," which features interviews with a veritable who's-who of exploitation icons, including Sam Sherman, Bill Lustig, Larry Cohen, Frank Henenlotter, Buddy Giovinazzo, Jeff Lieberman, John Skipp, Lynn Lowry, Terry Levene, and many others.
Rounding out the extensive special features are an extensive gallery of stills and poster art, exhaustive filmographies, and liner notes by legendary horror journalist Chas. Balun and Rick Sullivan. As a bonus, the set also includes a newly remastered CD of the original soundtrack.
The release is packaged in a beautiful embossed slipcover, with "other surprises" in store for fans.
